My Story

  As a rebellious child, there was growing tension between me ~ my
mother and my stepfather. As a result, I dropped out of high school and found
myself in and out of group homes, behavioral centers and even jail. At one time,
I was even homeless. This lifestyle eventually led to my having two children out
of wedlock...with no means of support other than through social services. At the
age of twenty, with two young children, I realized my life had to change.

Through the grace of God, I was led to a parenting class and connected with Patricia
Williams. She took a special interest in me and convinced me that I could in
fact turn my life around She helped me learn how to become a better parent and a better person. I credit her
with saving the lives of both my children and myself.
Yes,
My life has turned around. I returned to school earning my high school diploma.
I met a very special man, Leon Spruill, who is now my husband and we are the
parents of four healthy children. Now, I want to share my experiences and
hard-earned knowledge with our younger generation, and help break the cycle
